Batman: Arkham Knight - 7 Past Franchise Mistakes It Needs To Avoid
4. Leaking Too Much Beforehand
By the time Arkham City came out in October 2011, anyone who had been keeping up with the marketing knew every villain in the game but Clayface and Hush. Not only that, but most of the new setting had already been made known through both E3 demos and accidental leaking. While it is obviously very hard to keep leaks on a triple-A project from happening, the problem with Arkham City was that Rocksteady marketed every aspect of the game too much. It lead to too many assumptions and expectations arising to the point where a lot of the game's surprises lost their impact. Arkham Asylum had the advantage of keeping most of its content secret, resulting in many powerful and fantastic moments as players went through the game. With Arkham Knight, we hope that RockSteady takes a page out of WB Games Montreal's book by preventing much information about the game from getting leaked to the public. As much as I respect them, they aren't off to a completely good start considering all the knowledge we now have of the Batmobile.
Red Stewart is big fan of the entertainment industry, with insights into film, television, and video games for starters. Despite growing up in the 21st century's era of modernization, he prefers many retro era ideas over the current trends found in many of today's media. Personally he's an introvert who loves reading as much as gaming.
