Batman: Arkham Knight - 9 Reasons Why Season Of Infamy Is Already A Disappointment

2. The Batmobile Is Still Going To Be An Issue

Love it or hate it, chances are the Batmobile is going to have a key presence in this story add-on. It makes sense, seeing as how the pass has so far been dominated with Batmobile race-tracks and challenge encounters. They're a neat diversion from the core game, but they haven't really made players feel as though the pass was a worthy investment, especially for those who begrudgingly return to the title despite their hatred of said gameplay mechanic. The Batmobile and Knight's open world are inseparable from each other, so due to the fact that Season of Infamy will most likely be taking place in that area the car is bound to make an appearance along with it. For navigating Gotham's streets and nothing more the Batmobile is a really fun vehicle to ride, but when it's being needlessly shoehorned into boss battles and puzzle solving its presence becomes more difficult to appreciate - acting instead as an obnoxious burden that players must use in order to advance the story. Sure, there are plenty of merits that come with the open arena's resurrection, but as each day passes the case for the franchise to return to the semi-linear days of Asylum grows stronger. It would certainly eliminate the prospect of another snore-inducing Cloudburst confrontation after all, though I'm not particularly of the impression that Rocksteady will be so willing to part with their baby just yet.
