Batman: Arkham Legacy - 10 Playable Characters It MUST Include
1. Ordinary Gothamite
As Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice demonstrated so effectively in its opening sequences, we never really look at the human cost of such large-scale, grandiose clashes between the forces of good and evil.
There is a strong argument, therefore, for the inclusion of a sequence, however brief, in which the player takes control of a shop keeper, a delivery driver, or an office worker who, through no fault of their own, is suddenly thrust into the midst of a life or death battle to which they are woefully ill-suited.
Imagine an atmospheric, slow-motion scene reminiscent of the Max Payne series, in which a terrified school teacher is running down the street, desperately seeking cover, while explosions are triggering all around.
As you dodge shrapnel and just try to stay alive, Bane suddenly bursts through the wall, shattering brick and glass like that dog in Resident Evil, and your desperate struggle to survive this spiralling calamity begins anew.
Such a harrowing, visceral sequence, holding the hand of a seemingly inconsequential Gothamite, would add a poignant note to the otherwise fantastical setting, and show the true human cost of mass violence which will hopefully resonate in our increasingly divided world.
