Batman: Arkham Origins - 5 Ways It Could Disappoint

3. The Setting Will Be Very Different

batman-arkham-origins2 As we've seen millions and millions of times before, people are afraid of change. They aren't just annoyed by it, they hate it completely, it's pure, unreasonable hate. It appears that some changes in this game may bother some people, and while some of it is comprehensible (and a big reason to be worried about) the rest doesn't make much sense. Let's focus on one that will play a big part in the game. The previous games in the franchise are very straightforward; In the first one the Joker lured Batman into Arkham Asylum and pretty much left him prisoner in an institution filled with criminals that held a big grudge against him. In the second one Batman is trapped in a part of the city and he needed to stop the bad guys and escape the place, a bit different that the previous game, but nevertheless it was quite straightforward. However we don't know how much that is going to change in the next game, we know the Black Mask's plan and how he wants to achieve it, but we're not sure about the execution of it. It could be a linear game, it could be an open world thing in which you fight the assassins as you encounter them. While changes like this are welcome, let's hope they're well executed and they deliver what they're offering.
