Batman: Arkham Trilogy - 15 Insanely Cool Easter Eggs You Totally Missed

14. Joker's Message

Game: Arkham City

Early on in Arkham City, Batman finds himself in a church tower rigged to blow by the Joker. When the countdown started, most players played the game as they should and jumped out of the tower as fast as possible. However, the players who decided to stay, just to see what would happen, got to hear some unique dialogue from the Joker that set up the ending of the game.

After the countdown expires, Joker ponders, "Sometimes, I wonder if all this will just end with one of us looking down at the other’s corpse, trying to work out what to do next." At the end of the game, this is exactly what happens, as Joker dies from the virus and Batman looks down at him, unsure of how to react.

This feeling of loss carries over into Arkham Knight, and is one of the driving themes of the game. Could Rocksteady have planned that game's story even back then?
