Battlefield 1 DLC: 10 Specific Things Fans Demand

1. Air Superiority

I know I wasn't the only one who was surprised to see that Air Superiority was absent from Battlefield on launch day, considering that it's probably one of the franchise's most requested fan-favourite modes around.

Since debuting in Battlefield: 1943, air superiority has moved on to become somewhat of a staple of the franchise's multiplayer directory, having appeared in both Battlefield 3 and 4 as well. Fans too thought its appearance in the series' interpretation of the Great War was a dead cert, after a Reddit leak seemingly confirmed its presence in the months leading up to the game's release.

Well, it's not in the game currently, but I suppose the leak could hold some weight to it if DICE are holding the mode back for DLC, which would make a whole lot of sense, considering it was held back for both Battlefield 3 and 4's expansions as well. Dogfighting in Battlefield 1 is arguably the best the franchise has ever been, so a mode dedicated to it would be a welcome change indeed.

Irrespective of the wide array of additions DICE could potentially add to Battlefield in the months leading on from its release, it's important to remember we're still in the honeymoon phase here. If the pass ends up lacking for whatever reason, the game could, for all I know, end up pulling a complete 180 and effectively result in alienating a huge proportion of its playerbase. It's not as if older season passes haven't tried to, especially when they're this pricey, but hey, for once I think there's less to be weary of here. By all means, Battlefield has knocked it out of the park this year. Let's just hope the ball keeps soaring into 2017 and beyond.
