Battlefield 1 Open Beta: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

4. Horses & Tanks Are Grossly Overpowered

The whole point of a beta test is to check things like game balancing, and so it's none too surprising that there are absolutely some elements that require a nerfing ahead of release.

Firstly, though horses are ludicrously entertaining to use, they're also laughably overpowered, such that you can sink round after round into them from an extremely powerful weapon and they'll still survive. It looks silly, and while the horses need more health than a regular player character to be of use, it still needs to be scaled back quite a bit.

Then there's tanks, which can turn the tide of a match so aggressively because they're difficult to destroy (especially without anti-tank weapons), and once you gain control of one, there's not a lot stopping you driving from objective to objective, capturing them and melting anyone who dares get in your way.

These are undeniably fun elements, but they just need to be toned down a little for the final game.
