Battlefield V: 10 Radical Gameplay Changes You Totally Missed
5. Behemoths And Elite Classes Are Gone
Though it hasn't always been the norm, the past few main Battlefield games have been shipped around a central gimmick. The fourth release pushed "levolution" to the forefront, giving players the ability to transform any map by triggering a scripted destruction set-piece, while the latest title brought in "Behemoth" vehicles that would aid a losing side.
Battlefield V seems to have opted for a back-to-basics approach however, and DICE have confirmed that neither feature will be included in the sequel. Likewise, Elite Classes are also gone, which may disappoint players who enjoyed suiting up as flamethrower-wielding supermen to clear out objectives.
Though there were arguments over how both of these features affected the balance of 1's multiplayer, they undeniably added an element of unpredictability to the game. Sure, it was always frustrating to be decimated by a blimp as soon as you spawned in, but that only made it more satisfying when you saw it falling from the sky in a blaze of fire.
