Battlefield V 2018: 10 Things It Must Do Better Than 1

10. More Map Verticality

Battlefield 1's maps were pretty damn enjoyable, with the wide-open spaces of Sinai Desert and bombed-out Russian cities providing diverse and memorable playgrounds to wage war in.

While they were visually stunning though, they lacked the tactical variety and density of the best levels in the franchise. Most of the buildings weren't able to be entered at all, while the ones that were lacked any interesting visual signifiers and didn't provide many unique chokepoints.

It wasn't as bad as the ground-level maps of Star Wars Battlefront, but 1 erred a bit too close to that series for some fans' liking. In contrast to the fourth game, which took the action from the streets to the tops of skyscrapers and back down again, the restrictions present in DICE's last effort meant that maps lost their lustre fairly quickly, and damaged the replayability of its multiplayer.
