Before FIFA 13: The Evolution Of Football's Biggest Gaming Franchise
2012 - FIFA 13 Here we are then. Nineteen FIFA games have led us here, to FIFA 13, the currently unreleased twentieth title in the series. So, since those grainy and pixelated titles way back when, we have been treated to next gen graphics, new game play modes such as Be a Pro, Manager Mode and Career Mode, and, best of all, Wayne Rooney's haircut has been upgraded. What on earth can we expect next? Well, here's what we do know about the title. EA Sports have said through their website that FIFA 13 will boast the title of being "the most authentic football game on the planet with 32 of the worlds best leagues". We know that all the leagues from FIFA 12 are included, with the addition of the Saudi Professional League for the first time in the series' history. We have been told of the ability to perform tactical free kicks, with the player being able to position three attackers over the ball, with each performing dummy runs in an attempt to trick the keeper, and there's apparently going to be much more atmosphere in stadiums with the crowd chanting louder when their team is on the attack. Another interesting graphical implementation is the ability to see your teams manager on the sideline giving instructions, as well as the subs warming up. How realistic is that?! With the demo being released this week, expectation for EA Sports' latest in the blockbuster Football series is at fever pitch, and we can only sit back and watch where the series moves on from here. With more next gen consoles being plotted for the future, the potential for the series is almost limitless. Here's to another twenty FIFA games.
