10. Rampages/Gang Wars

It sounds sadistic, but one of the first things that anybody does when playing a Grand Theft Auto game for the first time is go on a killing spree, massacring anyone and everyone that crosses their path, using whatever weapons, vehicles and objects that they have at their disposal. Rampages, and later gang wars, have created structured challenges out of such behaviour, having players attempt to kill a certain number of individuals without dying themselves, or within a specific timeframe with a given weapon. Jack Thompson and the Parents Television Council may be of the opinion that such a thing brainwashes us into replicating such behaviour in the real world, but their idiocy aside, rampages and gang wars have provided a challenging way to utilise one of the game's core mechanics, and given the gang culture that plagues Los Angeles, seem destined to make a return in some form in GTA5.
