Before WWE 13: 10 Greatest Wrestling Games Of All Time

3. WWE '12

The first of THQ's games to be released under the "WWE" title, WWE '12 was the fourteenth wrestling game overall in the series. It saw the weak/strong grapple system of wrestling games gone by be removed, replaced with move sets based on the opponents physical state, such as targeting of a damaged limb. For the first time in the series, gamers could disrupt finishing moves, and even prevent Royal Rumble eliminations. Meanwhile, the ability to store more than one finishing move, which was possible in earlier games in the series, made its return, whilst the "Road to Wrestlemania" mode featured for the last time, being replaced by the "Attitude Era Mode" in the upcoming WWE '13.
