Bethesda Faces LAWSUIT Over Fallout 4 Creation Club DLC

Delaying The Microsoft Acquisition

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Bethesda

You thought this was spicy enough already? Oh, no.

The X-Law Group stated that Bethesda has wriggled their way out of lawsuits and legal action before, pointing out the case of game Rune 2.

Rune 2 was a competitor to the blockbuster Elder Scrolls franchise. Bethesda, sadly, sat up and took notice of this, and the developer of Rune 2, Human Head Studios, was bought by Bethesda/ZeniMax on the very same day Rune 2 came out, abandoning the game on its release day. Talk about a rough launch.

There's a wholly separate lawsuit where publisher of Rune 2, Ragnarok Games, claim Bethesda/ZeniMax/Human Head Studios purposefully sabotaged the game, and this is what X-Law Group are concerned about. Bethesda could wriggle their way out of this one by hiding behind another entity, like say... Microsoft.

So, as a part of the lawsuit, they've attempted to delay this purchasing.

“What we’re going to try and do is go in and ask a judge to stop the sale between Microsoft and Bethesda to preserve the assets. And it’s known as a motion for preliminary injunction.”
