Bioshock: All Games & Story DLC RANKED
5. Bioshock 2
At first glance, Bioshock 2 appears to be nothing more than a safe sequel to a much more intelligent experience. Whilst there are definitely hints of that here, Bioshock 2 is much smarter than people give it credit for.
The sequel deals with themes of fatherhood and disability, and has a lot to say on socialism. Sure, Bioshock 2 hasn't got as much to say on the topic as the original game does on objectivism, but it does tackle the subject relatively well.
Another reason people dislike the game is because of Subject Delta. People hate him because he's not an interesting character, but have those people played the original game? Jack is even less interesting.
People also ignore the great moments in the game. There's that segment where you play as a Little Sister and get to see the world through their eyes. It’s a great moment that deserves more recognition.
There are problems with Bioshock 2 of course. If there wasn’t it wouldn't be this low on the list. Looking after your Little Sisters can get really annoying, exploring Rapture a second time is nowhere near as interesting as going to a new city, and the Big Sister is a super annoying mechanic.
