Bioshock Infinite: 10 Important Details You Didn't Notice
5. Booker Rains Hell Down On Those Below
As a city set among the clouds Columbia is naturally one of gaming’s most exotic locations, with bright sunshine overhead and stunning views below.
But its that very altitude that becomes a problem, because with Columbia’s flight path taking it over major population centres, including New York, Chicago, and Portland, Maine, all those enemies you punt overboard, all those cargo containers knocked off of skylines, the thousands of rounds of ammunition expended, not to mention the stories-tall metal chunk of Elizabeth’s wrecked tower, all plummet to the ground killing, tens, perhaps hundreds of people.
What’s worse are the Handymen and Motorized Patriots which also fall to the ground. Should they survive (and both are tough) you now have crazed iron gorillas and Terminator-esque walking machine-gun platforms rampaging through a terrified populace.
And even if people aren’t crushed by falling debris or murdered by twisted abominations the horror of coming across tens of mangled corpses would be just as bad.
It’s a simple thing to miss but as with many things in Infinite there’s a sting in the detail, one that ensures you wont’ look at the game, and high-rise fights in any other, in the same way again.
