Black Ops 2: 10 Reasons To Ignore The Hate

8. New Game Modes

Zombies Of course, what would a Treyarch Call of Duty game be with out the traditional Zombie Mode? Started on a whim with Call of Duty: World At War, Zombie Mode has become one of the star modes of play in the Black Ops franchise. It's enough of a hit that when the game's pre-0rders went on sale, Treyarch decided to offer an exclusive Zombies map, Nuketown Zombies, to anyone who had bought the Hardened Edition. (It has since been made available for sale to the public.) What's even more amazing is that with the new Revolution map pack, you'll get a game mode known as Die Rise. The only, and central, feature known about this new DLC is that you'll actually get to play as a zombie. This is in addition to the existing Zombie campaign mode, where you take a bus trip through Zombie Hell. Even cooler is the addition of a new game mode to the Campaign storyline: the Strike Force Missions. In addition to other choices you make throughout the game, your success or failure during these missions changes the outcome of the overall storyline. Winning or losing the right allies in these missions helps change certain key events that the narrative hinges on, and one event is only available if you let the bad guy run away during one specific level. The gameplay during these missions mixes the First Person Shooter aesthetic of Call of Duty with a Real Time Strategy flavouring that allows you to merely place troop deployments if you wish, but allows you to take control of specific units if you prefer. Not only does this make the Strike Force Missions a great addition to the Black Ops playbook, it also leaves the door open to revolutionise the future of RTS gaming.
