2. Building On The Firsts Story
Halo 4 is so far billed as a reinvention of the previous Halo trilogy; whilst it will have the same DNA as previous games it wants to take the game in a different direction which, although admirable in the sense it's pushing it's own boundaries, stacks it up for a pretty big fall if fans reject the direction it goes in. Whereas Black Ops 2 is building on the firsts story whilst simultaneously pushing the boundaries of all Call Of Duty, which gives it the advantage that it will have a stronger sense of familiarity to build upon beyond just the characters; and the fact it picks up from the events of the previous games gives it a stronger platform to carry on from rather than trying to move the game in a completely new direction. Black Ops 2 will still be a big step up of Call Of Duty's game, but in comparison to what Halo is trying to do for itself it has less chance to fail if they get it slightly wrong.
