Black Ops 2: Where It Succeeds And Fails

2. The Equipment

The X-ray scopes will add a new tactical element, but some things shown in yesterday's seem like a bit much. It looked like the jamming device stops enemies from shooting and the air supports looks very powerful. While I don't personally have a problem with this, I can see matches turning into a spam fest of explosions and X-ray and suppression jammers. This may not be the wisest move, and no doubt a lot of people will get frustrated with the game and quit. Why does Activision care? No one will buy the DLC.

3. The Gameplay

Yes, love it or hate, the core game is unchanged. One hit kill knives, aim assist and the general feel of the controls are identical. You'll still be running through levels mowing down goons without being able to see your feet or feel like a person in a world. This, for me, is the major killer, the reason I doubt the game. Treyarch have put solutions in place to make the game feel different from previous entries, yet still haven't changed the gameplay. This is a real bummer at COD gameplay is getting a little bit stale.
