Blizzard Still Have No Release Date for Diablo III

But a release date is coming soon for a second quarter 2012 bow.

Blizzard announced today that they still have no set release date for one of the most anticipated games of the year Diablo III. However, they did announce that the release date would be coming in the near future. We do know the game will be coming out in the second quarter of 2012 but as to an official date Blizzard still doesn't know. Or at least won't tell us. Official forums director Jay Wilson had this to say:

"We think you're going to love Diablo III when it's released, Speaking of release plans, you can seriously expect a launch-date announcement from us in the near future. See, I didn't say 'soon,' so I'm not taunting you. ;) You'll know as soon as I know for sure the exact date. We get a lot of sympathy from the other teams because of the long hours of crunch our design team is putting in, but the secret is that playing through the game as we do final tuning, bug fixes, and optimizations is a real joy, We always know a Blizzard game is almost ready when we have to ask members of the team to stop playing so they can get their work done. That's definitely been the case around here."
Wilson concluded by saying the game is coming along great and everyone is excited to get Diablo III out onto the market. I do have to say even though Diablo III has been a long time coming I appreciate Blizzard not setting a release date until they are ready. So many developers now a days set release windows they can't meet and the game inevitably gets delayed past the release date. Hopefully once Blizzard finally announces a release date for Diablo III it is final and there is no chance of the game being delayed any further.
