Bloodborne: 10 Fan Demands It Must Meet

7. Memorable NPCs

Of the millions who encountered them, not a single player has forgotten Knight Solaire's quest for his own sun or the underhanded tactics of Patches the Hyena. Similarly, Lordran's onion-headed Knights of Catarina along with Boletaria's Royal Knights€”otherwise known as the sissy brigade, led by Captain Incompetent himself, Ostrava€”remain icons of their respective realms. This is to say nothing of the stylized baddies and bosses which act as intimidating reminders of the challenges of their home areas. The bleak landscapes of the Souls series are populated by merchants, witches, fallen heroes, bosses and fellow Undead adventurers with personalities and appearances so quirky and zealous that you can't help but love them, if only for the contrast they provide. Dark Souls 2 continued this trend with gruff swordsmen, terse merchants and still more devious bandits. Bloodborne has no excuse not to deliver a colorful supporting cast. Besides, if an inexplicably literate pair of crows can get players laughing (and scratching their heads), who knows what eccentrics its horrific cities are home to? Get creative, From Software! You've done it before.

A freelance games writer, you say? Typically battling his current RPG addiction and ceaseless perfectionism? A fan of horror but too big a sissy to play for more than a couple of hours? Spends far too much time on JRPGs and gets way too angry with card games? Well that doesn't sound anything like me.
