Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 - 10 Past Mistakes Activision Can't Repeat

7. Don't Lock Weapons Behind Loot Boxes

Loot boxes are a hot-button topic right now, and I know a lot of people are sick of hearing about them, but going forward Treyarch and Activision need to look at how they've implemented microtransactions and loot in all of their games released so far.

WW2 admittedly did its mystery box system pretty well, keeping the rewards confined to purely cosmetic items, however other games, like Black Ops 3, weren't executed so well. In that title actual weapons were gated off behind loot drops, with the only way to unlock them being to either grind out tokens and play the RNG game, or pony up real money and roll the dice until you got what you wanted.

With the furore surrounding these microstransactions it's unlikely that Activision would go ahead and risk pissing off their customers, but then again, this is the same company who sold 10-year old DLC for a higher price than it originally retailed at.
