Call Of Duty: Every Game Ranked From Worst To Best

After Ghosts landed with a comparatively damp squelch, something needed to be done to overhaul the series. The developers turned to Kevin Spacey and technological advancement as the key, opening the door to the more bonkers and more evolutionary Black Ops III.

Spacey's role - which was marketed heavily in the run up to release - might not have been the most complex in video game history, but it was a good addition to a pretty simple but effective story-line. More eye-catching - though not entirely successful - were the gameplay developments offered by the grappling hook and the exosuits.

Admittedly, they weren't quite fully cooked, nor were the levels designed to really benefit from them, but they did pose some great ideas that Black OPs III would later run with.
