As Brooks runs off to find a medkit, the player must maintain pressure on his chest, and in the game's best/worst bout of unintentional comedy, Kashima insists he's basically fine and has "always been a bleeder", even as an increasingly large pool of blood starts pouring out of his back.

A moment passes before he dies, and while the scene is clearly meant to be disturbing and emotional, it instead comes across as accidentally funny, a reminder of how tone-deaf these games can be when they forget what they are.
