Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy: 15 Most Brutally Hard Levels

2. Slippery Climb (Crash Bandicoot)

Slippery Climb is an endurance trial of a level and ultimately the most challenging of the series' conventional levels.

While Native Fortress can be made easier by leaping behind the fence and Hog Wild is at least mercifully short, Slippery Climb is both long and introduces a number of new challenges players haven't encountered up to this point.

Firstly, the level is wet and slippery as the name implies. Furthermore, the timing to leap between platforms is different from most prior levels and typically catches players unaware, while immense concentration is needed to leap between the various ascending platforms.

Checkpoints are few and far between, though if you die enough you'll get some additional ones generated, it's got an infamously difficult bonus level filled with TNT, and generally leaves even seasoned Crash vets in a state of raged anguish.
