Crash Bandicoot: Ranking Every Game From Worst To Best

10. Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure

Before knowing it was going to be taking advantage of its extremely limited hardware in such a remarkable manner, the huge adventure had a huge predicament on its hands. How can we extrapolate a 3D platformer and apply it to a handheld console that isn't capable of incorporating 3D polygons?

Well, the answers quite simple actually. Make it a 2D platformer and swap the polygons for sprites.

The first portable adventure for Crash wasn't a perfect product by any means. Between some underwhelming simplicity and indelible boss fights, its faults are more apparent than ever.

However, for a completely two-dimensional video game, the way that it utilises its limited trajectory is nothing short of impressive. In particular, the chase stages and vehicular levels imbue a 3D perspective using clever techniques, despite the hardware's primitiveness.

It set the precedent for portable Crash titles to come, setting the standard rather high, maybe too high as (shocking as it is), it's still the best portable Crash title a full 20 years later.
