Crysis 3: 10 Reasons It's Awesome

4. New Multiplayer Modes

Crysis 2's multiplayer showed certain promise, but there just wasn't enough there to keep people playing for more than a few days after they rinsed through the single-player campaign. Crysis 3, however, attempts to remedy this by adding in some new modes that make the comparison to Halo feel even more on the money. Hunter Mode is easily the standout of the game's multiplayer suite, as players try to survive against extremely powerful Hunters (who have unlimited stealth and maxed-out attributes), while their own faculties are bare bones; teamwork is how you keep alive. When C.E.L.L. soldiers die, they become Hunters until there's nobody left. Simple as that. It's a stressful mode if you're a C.E.L.L., stupidly fun as a Hunter, but enjoyable either way. Given how so many games shoehorn multiplayer offerings into their games, it's refreshing to see a mode that's actually had some effort put in, and one which people will hopefully stick with.
