Cyberpunk 2077: 10 Things We Can’t WAIT To Do
What's your first port of call in Night City?
It is almost here. The game many of us have been waiting years for will soon be in our hands after CD Projekt Red finally announced the game has gone gold. After years of development and multiple delays, the Cyberpunk 2077 hype train can finally set off at full speed towards its release date of November 19th.
After the monumental success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it is easy to understand why so many people have such high hopes for the next game to come from CD Projekt Red.
Not only did they set new standards for open world games, but they also delivered brilliant extra content in the form of two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, while at the same time making a stand against the inclusion of microtransactions.
If Cyberpunk 2077 delivers the same level of quality and value for money that The Witcher 3 did, then gamers will be more than satisfied with the experience they get. So before we all chip in, it’s best to take stock and consider all the things we can’t wait to get up to as a mercenary in Night City.
10. Find Easter Eggs
It is a common tradition for most developers to have Easter eggs hidden within their game.
These Easter eggs can range from inside jokes that only the developers will get, to clever references that pay respect to films, television shows, and other games. The Witcher 3 was no exception to this tradition, as it made references to Doctor Who, Monty Python, Lord Of The Rings, Dark Souls and other pop culture icons.
So it is only natural for players to speculate as to what Easter eggs they may find in Cyberpunk 2077, like references to Mike Pondsmith or his tabletop role-playing game, Cyberpunk 2020. But one thing fans of The Witcher 3 will be looking out for is a reference to Ciri.
When Geralt and Ceri were finally reunited, she describes a world she visited that sounds a lot like Cyberpunk 2077 as she recalls people who had metal in their heads and waged war from a distance.
Although the lead director for Cyberpunk 2077 has said there will be no Ciri cameo in the game, this will not stop players searching for references to an ashen haired girl wielding a sword roaming the streets of Night City.
