Dark Souls: 10 Cheats & Glitches That Broke The Game
8. Duping Souls And Items
Item or soul duplication has existed in all three versions of the game for various lengths of time, but these exploits tend to get patched out by the developers quicker than most other issues.
You either use a single-use soul or item multiple times or interact with it in such a way that you end up with two physical copies of it. The way it works has to do with queuing up actions so that the game becomes confused and treats the item that you are duplicating as a multi-use consumable.
It is difficult to explain, but is a lot easier when seen. There are videos available demonstrating an easy version that still works to this day in Dark Souls Remastered. The "parry and dupe during riposte" is ideal for beginners or people who aren’t confident with the menus as it has a large time frame to do the inputs and a low chance of getting it wrong.
Duping high-level souls meant that instead of farming enemies or speedrunning through the entire game to get to the meta PVP level, it allowed players to create new characters and level them up without wasting as much of their time.
