Dark Souls: 10 Cheats & Glitches That Broke The Game
9. Boss AI Bugs And Exploits
There are a number of bosses throughout the series that can have their AI either broken entirely or exploited in some way that renders them trivial. Here are a few of the more notable ones and the reason the effect takes place, if known.
In Dark Souls 1 and the remaster, it is possible to do an out of bounds glitch in Quelaag’s area that lets you drop a considerable distance – one that would easily kill you normally – except for the fact that you perform a plunge attack directly on top of one of the other bosses, The Demon Firesage.
As well as this coincidence making the skip possible, due to the fact that his AI is normally triggered by you entering the boss fog, dropping onto his head from miles up in the sky means he won’t even try to attack you.
Dark Souls 3 has a few versions of this. Most notably, in the Abyss Walkers fight, you can enter the boss fog and manoeuvre yourself to trigger the cutscene very precisely and for some reason, the boss will spawn and do nothing. Not a single move. For both phases as well.
Another easy kill.
