Dark Souls 2: 5 Ways To Make It The Best Game Ever

3. An Easy Mode

Dark Souls B

LucasArts' adventure games such as Monkey Island and Full Throttle came with an easy mode. It removed a few less obvious puzzles and automated certain actions. It was either implemented for those new to the adventure genre or those who were more interested in seeing how the story advanced. It's imperative that Dark Souls II introduces a similar mode. All too often in Dark Souls find myself just wanting to explore, but I can't, because I know that a shrieking hell-tree with a goat-head rapier might be lurking in the shadows, who'll think nothing of stabbing me in the back as I admire the rippling effects on the stagnant pond. Wouldn't it be great if there were an easy mode that either significantly curtailed the strength of the monsters or just outright removed them altogether? Should you so desire, Dark Souls II could just be an exploration simulator, with push button quick-time events instead of the frantic yet flawlessly intuitive combat mechanics.
