4. When In Doubt, Ranged Attack!
Speaking of awful creatures in the world, you'll spot a ton of them from afar, but have no choice in triggering them until you're close enough to take damage.
To remedy this, bring along a ranged weapon like a bow and arrow, or crossbow. Pinging an arrow off an enemy even from huge distances can get them to break away from the pack and come to you, making it far easier to clear out rooms.
Larger creatures too, you may wish to lead away from elements like high falls or environmental hazards - or just to see what something will 'do' when on alert.
Lastly, no one said you couldn't stockpile arrows to take down giants or dragons, either. It may just take a while...
