7. Bloodborne's Weapon-Switch Is In... Sort Of
One of the best new features in Bloodborne - but one fans simply wanted more of - were the transforming weapons; something that looks to be transferring over to DS3 in a very similar form. Essentially an evolution of the one/two-handed weapon toggle from the other games, now you'll get access to a specific 'Ready Stance' (as they're calling it) for each weapon. Larger and more heftier blades, spears, greatswords etc. take longer to get into this stance, but then do a lot of damage as a result. It's basically another way to flesh out why you'd want to hang back, factoring in the timing of such a thing into your attack strategy that could make for some great comebacks if you're left reeling, only to dominate the opposition within seconds. Lastly, when used in this way, the larger weapons are said to actually hit enemies so hard they get launched up into the air, Devil May Cry-style - although it's unknown whether that can factor into a combo or some other element like an environmental puzzle, stagger animation etc. This charge-uppercut was available through a very unique weapon in DS1, but as it seems to be a focal point of the new demo, hopefully there's a wider utilisation we're yet to see.
