Keen-eyed players will have noticed early on that Deadman bears a Frankenstein-like scar across his head, which more than a mere reference to Guillermo del Toro's many attempts to get a Frankenstein movie made, turns out to hint at his exact nature.

With no natural mother, no wife, no kids, and no friends, he's a total outcast, though forms a neat bond with Sam over the course of the game.

Still, as much as Kojima is known for on-the-nose storytelling, did anyone actually expect Deadman to literally be a collage of dead people strung together?
