7. Higgs Breaks The Fourth Wall

One of your first encounters with the villainous Higgs sees him tearing down the fourth wall in a clear attempt to mock the game's wave of haters. He literally asks Sam, "Aren't you getting tired of the grind?"

Given that the majority of Death Stranding's gameplay is focused on the rigours of traversal rather than combat set-pieces, it's understandable that some have called the game "boring," even if it's something Kojima was clearly fully anticipating.

Accepting that Higgs is probably the game's most ridiculous character - aided by Troy Baker's gloriously hammy portrayal - it makes total sense that he'd be the one to deliver this absurdly meta dialogue.
