Death Stranding: 6 Reasons It Could Be FANTASTIC (And 5 It Could Be A Disaster)
7. Creepy Darker Elements
PT is easily one of the scariest games ever made. It proved that not only is Hideo Kojima a man that deeply understands horror, but also one who can use it to subvert expectations and build astronomical levels of tension.
While Death Stranding might not be an all-out horror game, it's clear the same thought processes that went into the horrifying corridor of PT are making some form of an appearance in Kojima's new title.
From flame-proof demon skeletons to floating shadow fetus monsters, there's plenty of creepy entities lurking throughout the world of Death Stranding. How big a part of the game they are, we don't quite know yet, but seeing as many of Kojima's earlier trailers featured an ethereal realm full of ghostly monsters, it seems horror will be a large element of Death Stranding's story.
With the now cancelled Silent-Hills dead and buried, Death Stranding could turn out to be the fully-realised version of PT that we all so desperately wanted. Turning the dial-up on the horror elements may be a risky play, but if Kojima does it right, he could make one of the most unnerving triple-A games of the decade.
