Death Stranding Review: 9 Ups & 3 Downs

9. Building As A Community Feels INCREDIBLE
A major component of Death Stranding is connection. Set in a destroyed, post-apocalyptic world in need of being put back online so resources can be created and shared using supremely capable 3D printers, it's on you to spread word of the "Chiral Network".
Whilst this results in unlocking everything from weapons to vehicles, hiking gear and health packs, you're free to place power generators, watchtowers, safe houses, shelters etc. wherever you like. These are then shared between players, and even though you never see others in person, everyone benefits from an interconnected "web" of assets and interactions.
All items and vehicles can be left in "Shared Lockers" too, so you can willingly donate higher level gear, bikes and trucks to someone who might need them more than you.
Highways also form much bigger investments in terms of how many resources they require (again, shared amongst everyone), but the end result from beginning to end is staggering.
Seeing such a desolate, challenging landscape become overlaid in accessible roads, motorways, bridges etc. as the game progresses is a feeling like nothing else.
