10. The Mask Reference

The exotic helmet item the Mask of the Third Man has the following quote as its item description: "It wasn't me. It was the Third Man." This reflects a similar quote from the classic Jim Carrey comedy The Mask, where he declares, "It wasn't me. It was the one-armed man", which is of course itself a reference to the Harrison Ford thriller classic The Fugitive. It's a weird reference, there's no doubt about that, especially when you consider the possibility that Bungie have referenced The Mask, indirectly The Fugitive, and Carol Reed's 1949 film noir classic The Third Man all in the same sentence. Madness.
