Destiny 2: 10 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do
7. Exploit Specific Enemy Weaknesses
Headshots might have been the standard go-to for FPS's for years, but Destiny changes that up in some notably key ways.
For instance, let's look at the big baddies - the Cabal. Big bodies and small heads are going to make shooting at them quite annoying if you can't manage to get your aim down. Throw a huge shield in their hands and it gets even more annoying, and that's exactly what you have to deal with in the Phalanx enemies. They hold big deployable shields that block majority of their bodies and are invulnerable to bullet damage. Well, almost invulnerable.
Unlike in the first Destiny, Phalanx shields can actually be shot away for a brief moment, staggering the enemy and opening them up for an entire clip of bullets to the face. This weak spot is located directly in the middle of the shield, and is pretty hard to miss due to the fact that it glows. Video game logic tells you that if it glows, shoot it, and that logic certainly doesn't fail now.
Some Cabal enemies even have yet another critical spot that can be easily missed. On the backs of some are what appear to be 'vents', and when shot, do critical damage.
There's another kind of enemy shield that can be exploited in Destiny 2 as well: the elemental aura that surrounds some higher strength enemies.
For those, shoot them with the same energy element they represent: blast red with solar, blue with arc and purple with void. This will cause a small elemental explosion when the shield is depleted that does a significant chunk of damage to the enemy, as well as staggers them and any surrounding enemies.
With how many enemies you're going to be taking down, always do it in the fastest and most effective way possible.
