Destiny 2: 18 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
12. Locked Loot Crate? There's Always A Miniboss With A Key
If you've taken time to prioritise exploration over belting through the story missions, there's every chance you've already discovered this, but another one of Destiny's major improvements comes from making the worlds themselves feel more rewarding.
Case in point: Locked loot caches. Some of these will be flagged accordingly on your map, but others are tucked away in the nooks and crannies of the environment.
The catch? They're usually guarded by a high-level enemy.
So, if you come across a locked loot box that states something like "Requires Champion's Crest", it's not another in-game currency you need to purchase, but instead you'll need to seek out the respective miniboss nearby.
Defeating them releases the key and you're free to backtrack and open the crate, usually resulting in something rare and valuable.
