Destiny 2 Gameplay Reveal: 10 Things We Learned
1. PC "Coming Soon"
One of the most hyped aspects of Destiny 2 was that it was finally coming to PC, and the PC player base would get to join in on all the fun. With the gameplay reveal came some information about the PC version, some good and some bad.
First, the good:
A lot of the specs on the PC version were announced, and it's safe to assume a lot of PC gamers are going to be quite pleased. It's going to feature an uncapped frame rate, full mouse and keyboard support with custom key mapping, adjustable field of view as well as supporting 21:9 monitors and will also feature a text chat.
The answer to where you will be able to buy the game on PC was also finally answered. In an unexpected move, Bungie and Activision will be teaming with Blizzard to bring the game to Blizzard's Battle.net and will be the first non-Blizzard game sold there. No Steam or Xbox Store, only Battle.net will be carrying the game.
Now, the bad:
There's a very, very good chance the PC version is going to be delayed, and by very good chance, it's almost a definite thing.
Luke Smith, the Destiny 2 director, said at the reveal event, "We're not committed to a PC date yet, but at Bungie we're totally committed to making a PC build as great as we can." Smith wouldn't give any information on a possible date, saying gamers would find out in the "coming weeks."
Sorry PC gamers, but it looks like you're going to have to wait just a little bit longer to get your hands on Destiny.
