Diablo 4: 9 Changes Blizzard MUST Make
6. Character Customisation
Monks are always bald; Demon Hunters slim. And then there are Witch Doctors, who, inexplicably, prefer to mimic Quasimodo's posture 24/7. Immediately recognisable traits in a class-based RPG are always welcome as an easy signifier, but there's room for more flavor than that offered by Diablo 3.
Nothing reaching the levels of absurdity such as, say, Black Desert Online's infamous customisation systems are necessary, but there's no harm in letting players tinker with stock height or facial features as a minor allowance in personalisation. Class-specific gear is already a strong enough visual cue for who's who on the battlefield, and there's absolutely no reason to live in the past in this department.
Diablo IV's early demos have so far failed to make it clear whether such feedback has been taken on board, but lord, I hope so, or else Witch Doctor will be sitting on the bench for another decade-plus.
Looks matter.
