Dishonored 2: 10 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do
5. Use Inventory Maps
The levels and streets of Karnaca are twisted, winding mazes, and it is pretty easy to get lost within back alleys and apartment complexes. However, by finding a map in a level or buying one on the black-market for a favour can give you some insight into where things are. Giving you notable locations and places of interest, maps can give you that edge over your surroundings.
Where maps did feature in the first game, you were unable to carry maps with you and thus you couldn’t look at them unless your character was physically in front of them. But now, while exploring Karnaca they are kept in a handy little inventory tab for use wherever you may be.
For those worried that the maps will reveal all possible ways and ruin any idea of exploration, know that the maps are drawn in the style of the game and function more like a normal city map, rather than an overpowered secret-spoiler.
Not only do maps give you a sense of direction, but when maps purchased through the black market, are often paired with hidden treasures marked by ‘x’, giving you ammunition and resources if you take the time to hunt them down. The maps are a very handy feature that I missed on my first playthrough, only discovering them when I went back through.
