DOOM Eternal: 12 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
6. If You Keep Dying, You're Not Using The Slayer's Full Moveset
A lot of tips and tricks pieces state the importance of staying on the move, and that's true, but the thing I had to reckon with was understanding the entirety of what DOOMguy can now do.
If you're finding yourself constantly on low health, being downed amongst the fray or otherwise struggling, chances are you're trying to play this as a different FPS.
To that end, forget cover, running away to heal or taking potshots from afar. DOOM will only kill you for this, and the best solution is to get more lost amongst the carnage, sticking and moving within controlled bursts.
Use the Flame Belch as you drop into a group of enemies so that armour stays topped up, then drop an ice or regular grenade in to the middle. Keep jumping, shooting, dashing and strafing as you make your way to the next enemy, then chainsaw a lowly imp to refill ammo while you do.
This level of play takes days of play-time to bed itself into your muscle memory, but DOOM Eternal truly rewards those who know how to grapple with everything on offer.
