Ginyu is, from start to finish, just one big gimmick. His main gimmick is the Ginyu Force, special moves attached to the ki-attack button that summon the other four members of the Ginyu Force to pull off varying special moves. The specials change based on which member performs them, and based off which member previously attacked. They attack in sequence, so it's important to always keep track of which Ginyu Force member went last.

Outside of the Ginyu Force, the Captain has only one special move - his lunging strike. It's a very basic special, with low damage and few uses outside of aerial combos. This does massively compliment his super, the Body Swap ability.

Ginyu's Body Swap allows Ginyu to swap places with any of the opposing teams characters, giving them control of Ginyu and swapping him onto their team at the cost of three bars of super.

Not only does this swap your health bar, but it also removes the Ginyu Force from Ginyu's moveset. This essentially traps the opponent in a heavily nerfed version of one of the worst characters in the game, with access to just one special move. Genuinely would be more useful as a frog.
