Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 3: 8 Top Tier Characters

6. Base Vegeta

Dragon Ball FighterZ
Toei Animation

Base Vegeta was considered pretty close to bottom-tier when he first dropped. Stubby normals, low damage, a bad assist... he was pretty much bottom of the barrel material.

Now, he's widely considered one of the best five characters in the game. So what changed? Well, like with any new DLC character, all Base Vegeta really needed was time for the community to figure out his strengths. Just before the big balance change folks had figured out his ridiculously damaging loops, and SonicFox himself started to main the character.

Then came the new balance changes. Base Vegeta benefitted massively from getting two new assists (along with getting his first assist buffed), plus the change to how EX moves work gave him access to the most overpowered EX move in the entire game.

Being able to mix your opponent and then confirm that mix into massive damage for the cost of only half a bar has made Base Vegeta one of the most annoying characters to fight online and offline. The buff to his grab also added even more punch to his already devasting combos, letting him erase two-thirds of your health bar with ease.
