E3 2012: Miiverse Has Spoiler And Profanity Filters

Sounds like the Miiverse will be the happiest, jolliest social platform around.

Some more details came out of Nintendo's hardware presentation yesterday evening at E3, concerning the various tech that will be put in place behind their social platform, the Miiverse. Nintendo are implementing various systems within NintendoLand (a theme park based hub comprised of mini-games from signature Nintendo franchises), to make sure people are forewarned and can easily avoid potential game ruining spoilers. Within the social environment players will be able to leave messages and noted for others to read, not unlike a message board. These can then be tagged by other players and marked as potential spoilers. If you do come across something particularly risqué, or perhaps a detailed account of how another player is going to teabag your mother, then these can be flagged for review. Katsuya Eguchi stated he wanted "Miiverse to be a place where people will not feel threatened or uncomfortable with other content." So essentially the complete opposite of Xbox Live. Which is far from being a bad thing. Of course you really have to wonder whether Nintendo will simply have the manpower to constantly moderate an always changing social platform in this way? If they're successful though, it sounds like the Miiverse will be the happiest, jolliest social platform around.
