E3 2012: Two Worlds Developer Working on Survival Horror Game

A new IP announced from Two Worlds 2 developer Reality Pump Studios.

Reality Pump Studios, the studio behind Two Worlds is stepping outside the open world genre to create a survival horror game called Sacrilegium. According to Gamespot, the game will follow "20-year-old Californian college student Alex" who will be fighting what the site calls "modern day vampires", what that actually means is unknown. The main protagonist Alex will trek from San Francisco to Europe to fight "A large array of dangerous and mysterious monstrosities". She will have all types of different tools at her disposal to fight the vampires: martial arts, grey matter, and "the enigmatic Moroi €“ a creature most resembling a vampire, but able to eat a vampire for breakfast." Reality Pump boss Miroslaw Dymek stated:
"It pleased us that we succeeded to develop the Grace 2 engine in a way that enables us to present models and landscapes that make photos look like charcoal drawings compared to the game,"
The game will be running on Reality Pump Studios in game engine Grace 2, the original Grace engine was used to power Two Worlds 2. The game is scheduled to be released for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC right now. However, no release date has been set at this time which probably means the game won't be released until 2013 at the earliest. I really love it when game developers move outside their boundaries to create games in different genres, because so many game developers these days are stuck creating the same games over and over. Besides we need more survival horror games that are actually scary, but we will have to wait and see if Sacrilegium can actually reinvigorate the genre. Here is the link the the official website.
