12. Killer Instinct 3
A fighter thats been sought after for around ten years, this game looks like Tekken 5 if the developers had been on LSD. As a fighter there isnt a vast amount that can be said without having the experience of playing it, though we did get a chance to see a few of the playable characters, including a large blue wolf-man (presumably a transformed werewolf), a shirtless muscly ninja, and an ice-man/monster/alien. The unique characters has always been whats set Killer Instinct apart from other franchises, often using unusual anthropomorphic designs rather than sticking to the traditional shouty muscle men and pairs of boobs with women attached. The fighter genre has been almost completely monopolised of late, so its good some new blood (well, renewed blood) is being thrown into the mix for a change. It also shows Microsoft are trying to offer a range of games on launch rather than just one or two standard shooters, so perhaps their sales wont be as bad as first precedented.
