E3 2013: Who Had The Best Press Conference Out Of The Four Showing?

Ubisoft

2013-e3-ubisoft-press-conference-650x0 Granted, as I alluded to earlier, I wasn't in attendance at the Ubisoft conference, so my views may not be quite as fleshed out as with my other conference reviews. Having said that, I have caught up and can at least spare you a few words on what I made of their conference. Ubisoft are a massive company, but perhaps not quite as colossal as the other three who were showing today. However, that has never stopped them in the past. Last year they really did show up the competition, with the excitement that was for Assassin's Creed 3, as well as the then belle of the ball Watch Dogs, so eyes were fixed to see what they would deliver. Unfortunately, that seems to have been a lot of what we know already. They started things off with the rather striking image of the ever popular Aisha Tyler, coming onto stage with a "Girlwood" t-shirt. Clearly she was excited, but it was an enthusiasm I just can't find myself sharing. While games like The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot and The Division certainly looking very strong, other than that, there wasn't too much that excited me. There was of course an Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs, but we wouldn't see the best of what those series had to offer until the Playstation press conference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tLmOcBjYFg They also showed the newly acquired South Park: The Stick of Truth, Rabbids Invasion (which is set to become a TV show), and the long delayed Rayman Legends as well. Those are some impressive titles but they also were titles we expected and are not 'console sellers'. It just doesn't feel like enough to really steal any sort of real spotlight away from the other corporations who were showcasing their wares across the days. Hopefully when I get onto the showroom floor, Ubisoft will excite me further, but for the moment, call me tepid.
