11. Co-op Assassins Creed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9UbtVWTr2c Assassins Creed is pretty much the Call of Duty of third person action games. Each game is more or less an iteration of previous titles, with some new twists in every other game. But this years reveal that Assassins Creed: Unity has four player co-op was a nice reveal for several reasons. First, its nice to see that many games are embracing co-op again, after a generation where co-op seemed to die except in a handful of games. Second, the co-op seemed like a seamless part of the games campaign, where many past games felt like they tacked on co-op to boost sales or check off a box in the corporate checklist. The games French Revolution setting, with its huge mobs and emphasis on busting up the nobility, seems like a perfect fit for the game, justifying the use of multiple Assassins and the teamwork that comes naturally to co-op.
